(From Left to Right)
To say that I love Christmas would probably be the biggest understatement of the century. I can’t get enough of this completely magical and wonderful time of year! Buddy the elf is my spirit animal and I am not ashamed to admit it! I’m for sure going to spend these next few weeks doing as many Christmas-y things as I possibly can to keep the spirit alive: seeing the lights, ice skating, building a gingerbread house, Christmas shopping, watching every Christmas movie I can get my hands on, and of course… listening to Christmas music! I’ve put together some of my absolute favorite Christmas songs in this handy Spotify playlist that I know I’ll be playing on repeat for sure! Enjoy!
All throughout middle and high school, I was OBSESSED with magazines. I still love to flip through a thick, glossy paged Vogue or InStyle now and then, but during my teen years, I treated fashion magazines like some kind of rare, precious jewel. I would scour the aisles of the grocery store until I found exactly the mag I wanted, be all set to check out, and then stop dead in my tracks. There’s a tear in this magazine! I’m definitely not getting that one. So, I’d go back to the aisle, and sift through the stacks until I found just the right one. If I was going to pay $7.50 for a magazine, I insisted that it be without flaw.
Black Friday is the one day of the year where we can literally shop till we drop with no judgement and score the best sales of the season. Alas, for many this isn’t the case. Welcome to the world of retail, where “holiday” almost always equals “work day.” I’m fortunately not working Black Friday this year, but I have several years of retail experience and two Black Fridays as a stylist at White House | Black Market under my belt, so I thought it would be fun to share some tips for those out there that will be spending this day working their little turkey tails off!
With the holiday season in full swing, you might be wondering what you’re going to wear to that fancy Christmas party, glam night out, or maybe even an upcoming wedding. Well, I’ve got just the look for you! This draped black dress from is perfect for any formal affair and is such a great mix of uniqueness and versatility.
As much as I love Christmas, Thanksgiving is definitely one of my favorite days of the year. There’s nothing better than being surrounded by good food and good people, while reflecting on all we have to be grateful for. I never used to cook for the holiday, but for the past couple years I’ve made something, usually a desert. I’m still not sure what I’ll make this year, but this recipe for apple dumplings might just be it! I came across these beauties while thumbing through Ree Drummond’s (aka: The Pioneer Woman’s) cookbook. This desert is super simple and super delish!
Pumpkins with scary faces are being replaced with pine trees adorned with twinkling lights. Shouts of “Boo!” are being replaced with a merry “Ho, Ho, Ho!” Pumpkin spice lattes? It’s all about the peppermint mocha now! It seems that the second Halloween is over, we can say “bye-bye” to fall and “hello” to the happy holiday season. As much as I adore Christmas, and believe me, I’ll be talking about it plenty during the next couple months, I wanted to take some fall outfit pictures outside that showcased the beautiful fall foliage while it’s still here!
Who here would consider themselves an over-thinker? I know I’m raising my hand for sure! It’s crazy how our insecurities can overwhelm our thoughts and before we know it, they’re altering how we view other people… sometimes people we don’t even know. This video is such an awesome reminder of how our preconceived notions about others can be so poisonous. I highly encourage you to take 5 minutes out of your day and watch this video! I promise, it will totally change your perspective!
