Christmas just isn’t Christmas to me without cookies! There are several different kinds that I love making with my mom every year, but my favorites would have to be these Hello Dolly’s, otherwise known as 6 layer Christmas cookies. My family has called them Hello Dolly’s for several generations, and I’m not really sure why, but they are such a nostalgic and delish desert that is so super easy to make!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 1/2 cups of graham cracker crumbs
- 1 stick butter
- 1 1/3 cups chocolate chips
- 1 1/4 cups shredded sweetened coconut
Step 1: Place one stick of butter in your baking dish and stick it in your oven set to 350 degrees. As soon as the butter is completely melted, take it out and set aside. This took me about 5 minutes.
Step 2: Pour graham cracker crumbs evenly on top of melted butter. Then add chocolate chips and coconut shreds. Evenly pour entire can of sweetened condensed milk on top and place in oven, still on 350 degrees.
That’s it! Keep checking your cookies to see if they are golden on top. As soon as they are, take them out of the oven and let them cool. Mine took about 20 minutes to bake.
