In case you were wondering, I don’t dress like this on the daily, nor would I try to, LOL! I was attempting to do my best Kardashian impression (monochromatic everything, minimal accessories, a slicked back pony, and you can’t forget the indoor sunnies a la Kris Jenner.) How did I do?? I hate to say it, but I totally keep up with the Kardashians! Even though there are so many things that I can’t stand about that family, I still keep coming back to them. If you’ve ever watched the Kardashians, you’ve probably noticed that in almost every episode, the family is eating this mystery salad from a plastic container.
I did a little research to find out just what’s in this salad and if it’s all it’s cracked up to be. It turns out, they come from a place in Woodland Hills, CA called “Health Nut,” and most of the salads are around 10 bucks. I thought it would be fun to try making one at home for way cheaper. I can’t say I felt like a Kardashian eating it, but it is a really simple and delish. I can see why they love it so much!
Here’s what you’ll need for the salad (I wasn’t sure about exact measurements, so it’s best to just eyeball it to suit your personal preferences):
- Iceberg and romaine lettuce
- Chicken breast
- Sunflower seeds
- Shredded mozzarella cheese
Here’s what you’ll need for the dressing (Again, just totally eyeballing here. This is totally up to you based on how many people you are serving, and how you want the dressing to taste.)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 4 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp garlic
- 1 tsp Italian herbs
- Optional: I added just a little bit of honey to make it a little sweet.
- A mason jar to shake it up
And that’s it! Super simple and honestly a lot better than I was expecting. I’m not a huge salad person…I would take a burger over a salad any day, but this was so good!
Are you a fan of the Kardashians?? I think it’s fun to see what’s happening with celebrities, but when it comes to the Kardashians, the only thing I’ll be imitating about them is their choice in salads!
